This is HUGE! Will be highest ranking since Endless Summer in 1974.

Great news, this will be their highest charting studio album since Summer Days (ASN!!)! Also the article clarifies that the QVC sales will count in the first weeks total.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Well, this surely will encourage them to release more albums and keep Brian in the band.

If they really did sell all 5K of those.... that may have put them over the top.

I'm telling you guys.  It's VERY POSSIBLE that they debut at #1.  50% chance, at least.

That's amazing to hear, they deserve it.  It's really a great record.  I know Dylan had a 38 year gap between number one albums, but can't seem to find the record for a group.  That would be quite an achievement, but even top 5 is a huge success in my book.

Well their last album to be in the Billboard top was 15 Big Ones and it was just number 8 i believe (correct ?)
so yeah, if this actually goes IN the top 5, that would definitely blow their mind.

Between Me pushing the album on the board, and Mike Love pushing the album (and slamming Adele) at the concerts, Positivity Alone is going to get them AT LEAST to #2.

I"m joking... but yeah he mentioned her by name at the concert Saturday, and supposedly SOLD OUT 5,000 copies of the CD they had on hand because 50 of them were autographed.

BTW, I love Adele, wish her all the best.  Next week.  Until Monday morning though, ... BUY AMERICAN!!!!

They will be, Mike was specifically saying to buy them, so they'd count, so he could beat Adele!  It was awesome!

I'd really like for that to happen, but I think that the 5k may not count toward this week's total.  As I understand the article, the chart week ended on Thursday?  I hope I'm wrong.

You're wrong, Eric, thankfully!  They have until midnight Sunday (today).  So they count!

BTW the Thursday thing was when they last had numbers.  So the article is saying, they have the numbers for Monday through Thursday (but the full numbers include through Sunday night).

Cool!  Thanks for clarifying!  I really hope they count the units sold at the shows!

Small but relevant nugget of info - The Beach Boys have never had a #1 studio album.

Really, huh, weird.

Well i guess that explains why they're always just about the hits now.
