I know that you're not a fan of GIOMH, but I was wondering if you had to do a new version of your fabulous BB book, what would you write about that and the Christmas album?

Good luck getting a response out of him.  He left the board
when that chick tried making a Professor out of Charles.

Andrew probably hates the Christmas album too.  I posted
my praise for it in the album review forum, and he gave me
a hard time and told me to go elsewhere.  Nice.

From AGD:

Re: Question for AGD from Smiley Smile board

I'd write my honest, and considered opinion, based on some 31 years of being a BB fan - that GIOMH is lamentable in just about every department you care to mention, but notably as regards the lead vocals, the arrangements and above all the mix (no reflection on mark - he was doing what he was told to do), and is far and away the worst BB solo album yet released, not to mention being nothing like the best Brian is capeable of (but given the events surrounding its conception and execution, that's hardly surprising)... and that the Christmas album, whilst inoffensive, was ultimately mpointless and probably a poor career move.

Notice I wasn't asked my opinion of BWPS... but then I guess that would kinda spoil the idee fixee some people have of me, wouldn't it ?

I would like your opinion of BWPS, btw...

Magnificent.

He must still lurk here, since he's a My Space friend of David Marks.  Hi, Andrew!

I don't think that being unconvinced over the legitimacy of Laurie's most recent harassment claim justifies a charge of woman-hating. Especially when none of the accusers seem able to get their stories straight over what Charles is actually supposed to have done. Hunt says sexual-harassment. You said not sexual, just harassment. The "victim" says...very little.
So someone who - idiosyncrasies intact, and we all have them - should be considered a credit to the BB fan community (who put out a lot to not only keep this going, but to actually expand it into something more broadly BB related) has copped a hard time for no good reason.
If Chuck had been giving Laurie such a consistently rough deal, it wouldn't have been that hard for her to ignore him. PM's don't have to be opened, they can be deleted without perusal. She's obviously an intelligent person. The dim, innocent little Laurie act doesn't sit. Spurious crap.

Last I knew (last Summer), the guy was still spending hours a day at the bluey, lapping up every last limp query the feebs over there could drool his way (even chumming up to Lenssen, eww). That's what has always made me laugh so hard when he comes on other boards and does the "bluey's that way, son" routine.
He's projecting, that's all. You're not the first.

As one ordinary board member to others, please, PLEASE, keep discussions about "the exodus" either in the Sandbox or off the board.  It has nothing to do with this part of the board.  I thank you.

Well, the comment by Forces made me "uncomfortable", yes. But the Laurie thing is not why Andrew left. At least, not what he told me. Anyway. old news and sorry if I offended anybody.

And black people don't have to watch minstrel-show blackface. Anyway, old news.

Hope you'll come back by here, Ian, and liven things up.  I'll try to make it by the other board some time and do the same...

Just visited that Male Ego board for the first time.

The black-and-white photo of Brian on the top of the page is a hoot!  Anyone know when it was taken?

And who's the guy in the photo with Brian?  Is that Roger Waters?
