I was reading some posts in the review thread, and someone mentioned songs that it reminded them of, including "Arthur's Theme" and Tiffany's version of "I Think We're Alone Now".

Almost immediately, the verses remind me of "Save The Last Dance For Me".

What songs are you reminded of when you listen to this song?

What songs are you reminded of when you listen to this song?

Other songs that I wish Jeff didn't have a partial lead vocal on aka all songs that Jeff has a partial or complete lead vocal on.

I just posted this in other thread. I think it sounds like time to get alone, the verses especially.

All of the above plus Lahaina Aloha.

It's interesting how much octave-doubled leads are used on this album.

The chorus is the same as the verse in Darlin' for me

"i was feelin like half a man" is similar to "ill give you shelter from the storm"

I think you're on to something there.

I keep hearing kind of a slowed down "Wendy" vibe...

i thought thinkin bout you baby/darlin was the most obvious thing.  I'm fairly certain it was the first thing most said when the clips came out.

Btw, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask the poster "shelter" to confirm if he has been using such nickname prior to knowing about the song's existence. I think he has, in which case he can share with AGD the category of BB (minor) prophet.

In a very superficial way it reminds me of Kiss Me Baby.  Solely because of the counterpoint in the second chorus.

I've been using this nickname for over six years now and have not been aware of the song's existence until a few weeks ago. Shelter is the name of another favorite band of mine.

Foskett's part in the chorus of "Shelter" reminds me a lot of Carl's chorus vocal on "Lahaina Aloha."

There's a lot of DNA from "When I Grow Up to Be A Man", with a little "Don't Worry Baby". And I don't mind at all.
