He used to put on a great show. I've seen him twice with my wife, and there is nobody who relates to his audience like Barry Manilow; just a consummate entertainer. He made some very nice pop records in the 70s. Obviously his uncoolness is a well-worn cliche, but that was always beside the point with him, just as it has been for many years with a certain group from Hawthorne, CA.

I really liked his music for "Thumbelina". Usually these Disney knockoff films have such lousy music, but those songs were really sweet.
Also like his jingles. Definitely a lost art.

I have a respect for him. A couple of his songs I can appreciate, but in general he's not really my thing.... although, I admire him as an entertainer, a vocalist, and even as a human being. He seems like a really sweet guy, good for him.
