Heading there in about two hours - 12 minutes away from the front door. We had lunch there on Wednesday and saw lots of promotional signs throughout the casino. Hope Bruce's voice has cleared up to sing Disney Girls.

True that. Don't know why he wasn't part of the line-up, seems like a no-brainer. Guess he still lives here in the valley over in Henderson.

They had a late start but then again I got there way tooo early with the wifey. We went back out to our car to retrieve our camera and "smoke one'. Great show and had a really good time talking with other fans. One of the security guys told us that 10,000 people showed up. We were down on the floor pretty close to stage. I can only hope that somebody recorded it because that would make a damn nice souvenir!

I have my 62nd birthday two days after Brian Wilson turns 70. Their 50th anniversary celebration as a band coincides with my 50th anniversary as a fan. A rabid drive everybody crazy fan. It's been 29 years since I saw the entire band on stage together, and I mean with Brian, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, 8 years since the two SMILE shows we attended in Texas. So, when this tour was confirmed and the Las Vegas date scheduled, six miles from our home, I was really enthused. Unfortunately, as an out of work banker who hasn't collected a real paycheck in over a year, this seemed like an out-of-reach luxury. But my wife of 40 years broke the piggy bank, so last night I got to see the greatest band ever performing almost three hours worth of hits live on stage, one right after another.
Like I said when I posted the set list last night, everyone's voices were great, the band was great, Brian sparkled vocally on his leads, David's guitar was spectacular (and made me wonder how much greater they might have been live, if that were possible, had he been around to share the load when Carl backed off a bit on lead guitar). Brian did look uncomfortable seated at the piano, but that was evidently more physical, since he wasn't waling around too well.
It seems like there has been lots of discussion about this song or that song being played or not being played, whether Brian is having a good time, who should or shouldn't be in the back-up band, something called an autotune, which I had never heard of but apparently is different from an autoharp, which Beach Boy looked at which other Beach Boy, and even silly, almost fearful, remarks about their clothes for Pete's sake, why anybody would care the least bit about that is way beyond me. Enough. Sure, I'd have liked to have heard Disney Girls (Bruce was still not in shape for a full lead), I Can Hear Music and Darlin' and California Saga. . . but I did get to hear 44 terrific renditions of 44 terrific songs. This was a highlight of my life and I've got nothing to complain about, and I wouldn't even if I thought I did. I thank God and my beautiful wife and my two grown sons in Texas who told their mom "Dad has to be there, he can't miss this", and of course the Beach Boys for the best concert I've ever heard by the best band that ever existed.

Thanks for that link Rocker. Actually, they played there 1982-83-84 after a Giants baseball game; we were at all three. Brian only showed for '83 and of course Dennis was gone by '84. I have great photos from all three but can't seem to figure out how to compress them enough to post on this board.

You mean you have them on your computer and don't know how to upload or you don't know how to get them on your computer in the first place ?
If it's the first, try something like imageshack.com
It will be uploaded there and you can post the links here

I scanned them onto my iMac as jpegs but the files are evidently way too big for this site even when i have reduced them as much as I can with the tools I have. I don't have Photoshop or anything like that on my current set-up, and am not the most computer literate when it comes to this kind of stuff. Let me try your suggestion. Thanks. I'd like to share them.

Rocker, there's some nice stuff there. The BB concert photos on the page are from 1983. I have one of them on my Facebook page, with Billy at the grand piano and Brian on bass during the encore. The cable car poster is from the 1982 concert. I had one but it got burned up in a fire. I'm not sure what the photographer meant by them playing at "intermission", since there isn't one in baseball, and it would have to be a darned long one for a concert. '82 game was with the Padres September 18,; '83 July 16 against the Cardinals. Good times. Thanks for this link.

Thanks Rocker. Those are nice. I was sitting in the top row in the rear but directly in front of the stage. Nobody behind to complain if you stood up, plus the extra space along that rear walkway along the top was nice to have. I just used binoculars when I wanted a closeup. Sound was perfect. I remember when we heard those opening pounding drum beats for "Do It Again" thinking alright, here we go at last, and then about a minute or so into the song it really hit me what I was seeing and hearing.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!
