Is it possible that any of the retailers will have special throw-ins on release day, like bonus tracks, a key chain or whatever?  Best Buy sometimes has little extras, though not as often as they used to, and more often for DVD's than CD's.  Target, too, but they don't even seem to have it available for pre-order. Best Buy also sometimes has new releases for $9.99 or less.

Buying from an indie store comes with a free contribution to not getting f***ed in the ass at your job in the future.

The guy could just be saying that, but it also wouldn't surprise me if major labels were now sometimes holding off on sending albums to "evil" mom and pop shops as early as the chain stores due to their occasional selling of new albums before the release date as a measure to prevent leaks.

Boy, that was a terrible sentence. Hopefully you get what I mean, though.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. Capitol's really been keeping a lid on this thing.

See The Smile Sessions only getting online AFTER its release date, which is extremely rare in this day and age, especially for a well known band. I think maybe the two disc version got out the day before or the day of, but I only saw the box set pop up on sites over a week later. Damn!
