I am a sucker for hymns, especially the glorious English hymns.  I sing in a chorus, but have loved vocal music and especially English hymns all my life.

One of my favorites is JERUSALEM, the poem by William Blake & music by Hubert Parry.

SO POST YOUR FAVORITE HYMNS HERE!  Post a YouTube link if you have one!

JERUSALEM

And did those feet in ancient time.
Walk upon England's mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England's pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England's green & pleasant Land

My favorites are A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief, and How Great Thou Art.

When I was younger I used to hang out with several friends who were Mormon, and went to church with them from time to time... where I was introduced to both of those songs as performed by the Mormon Tabernacle choir.  Doesn't get much better, regardless of your religious affiliation.  Simply fantastic music.

Elvis' version is better, however...
