Famous FM radio DJ died. 

Story briefly mentions The Beach Boys...uncool in the early 70's?Huh  (I think not.. Cool).

I remember hearing a couple of interiews with him. He seemed like a true romantic. Always quoted highbrow books and romanticized music... rip

Always championed the Beach Boys -- and one of the pioneer FM guys.  Tuned in to "Mixed Bag" to hear him tribute Levon Helm he other day and they said Pete was in the hospital.

One of our deejays is missing.....

Always respected Pete for championing sometimes up-hip, but legtimate artists like The Beach Boys and Rick Nelson.
