It doesn't look good.

Yes, it does. It really does.

Sorry - should have put an "in my opinion" in there.
I actually like the single cover art more!

I think it's awesome! The higher res version really sold it to me. Hope it's the official art. If it's from amazon, I think it's the genuine article.

I like it. Not great, but not terrible either. I was expecting much, much worse.

I personally think it would look better without the thick black border around it.

Oh no, what a let down if so. If this isn't it, I'm not excited for the real artwork. It could be pretty bad. I sure hope they get it right.

I quite like it. It's unremarkable but it's tasteful. I was worried it'd be cringingly naff, akin to their '80's period artwork, but it's actually rather nice.

Yep. Mine too.

Mine shows the correct title but there's an apostrophe missing from "That's". I might make a complaint and demand a discount.  Grin

I'll go so far as to say that it's one of the better Beach Boys album covers ever considering that album covers have never been their strong suit. This is easily the best cover since Holland. Better ones: Smile, Surf's Up, Smiley Smile, Wild Honey, Pet Sounds, All Summer Long- that's it. I will say it looks like they had the cover design before they decided on a title, because the design has f- all to do with God or radios. But the colors are quite lovely- I may buy the LP just to display it.

I'd like it better if maybe the boys' logo was kind of muted and in the entire background... so blow the image up to the size of the cover, but make it really transparent, and then lay the waves and the words over top of it.  I like the waves a lot, though.

They have to have the logo on there somewhere, and pretty big so it will give that valued 'pop' off the shelf.  They want everybody that sees it anywhere to immediately see the logo.

That would look just a little bit better with the Cooper Black font.

But it's a cool design - reminds me of the Gershwin cover, which is a great piece of art.

Maybe, but you forgot Surfer Girl.  BOTH album covers are awesome.

Edit:  I'm confused, I'm not talking about the surfer girl cover with the boys and the board, I'm talking about the album cover with the huge wave, and this great one heah:

Eh, it's not their worst, but it just looks plain and boring to me.  Nothing particularly artful.  My other issue is the logo looking obnoxiously out of place.  I get the usage for it for promotional purposes, but does it have to be plastered on literally everything?  I think it would have looked more tasteful (and I'd probably like the artwork a lot more) if they had used a similar font to the album title for consistency.

However, at this point, I can live with it, if the music is good...

I like it. It does look very Fleet Foxes, but that's a good thing. From the title of this thread I was worried we'd have the band all holding surfboards with Bruce in shorts or something.
