Bloody love them - kinda sucks he didn't go in and demo much beyond 1964, really. A Witmark demo of Rolling Stone would be something to behold...
Yeah, they're great!
Maybe with his 50 years and all, we'll get more!

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

One too many mornings - Bob Dylan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zjsr7q3F8EU&feature=plcp
I really need to get this album. What a great song!
Or, I have the album. I could always send you the files if you wanted!
No thanks! I'll buy it one of these days.
I own most of Dylan's studio albums - for some reason I've never bought this one.
It's a really good one!
Word. Have you heard Boots Of Spanish Leather, rab? It's beautiful.
As for me, this album gets a little less mileage (I love Bob goofin' off, so Freewheelin' or Another Side is more my style) but this is such a good album. Been going through a Bob phase lately.
Have either of you guys checked out the Witmark Demos yet?
They're great too!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSXY5xxZ9UM
Haven't heard the Witmark collection yet! Can't wait to get my hands on it.
____
@Hypehat: Never heard that before! It's got that great 'Girl From North Country' chord progression/melody.
I love Bob Dylan phases - they come out of nowhere for me, and he's got such a diverse collection so it never gets old.

Have you guys heard 'It's All Over Now Baby Blue [take 1]' from the No Direction Home soundtrack? Trumps the album version by miles.

When it comes to songs I play every time I come across them on the old iPod, the one that really comes to mind is "Deep In Kentucky" by Sandy Posey. You'll find it on Spotify, not on Youtube - though the latter has a version by the Box Tops, and another by a guy whose name I forget.
The song was written by Bill Davidson, a native of west Nashville and apparently part of the crowd of musical-minded kids in that neighborhood in the early '60s that included Bobby Russell. The Nashville part would explain why the song reverses the usual way-down-South lyrical approach, so that the narrator is taking "a trip to that northern boundary, deep in Kentucky where you'll never find me" - in other words, getting on a bus to that mysterious metropolis called Paducah.
There seem to be four or five recorded versions of "Deep In Kentucky" but there's something about Sandy Posey's version - the arrangement, the vocal - that gets me every time.

The amount of raw emotion in Jeff Mangum's voice is what makes me come back to this song more than almost any other.

Gene Chandler's "Duke of Earl". Really snook up on me, now it's always in my head. Learned most of the parts now, might drag some friends into a room and make them sing it with me.

Check out his follow-up, "Walk On With The Duke". Not nearly as successful, but a catchy tune!

Ignition by R. Kelly.
It's the greatest song of all time, especially if you listen to the OG version and then the remix as it is on the album.
I mean,
1) It is a song about a remix of itself.
2) Bouncebouncebouncebouncebounce
3) You must be a football coach the way you've got me playing the field
4) bouncebouncebouncebouncebouncebounce
5) It's like Murder She Wrote/when I get you out them clothes
6) As if the party was catered!
7) Toot toot
beep beep
9) That ridiculous bass thing before the chorus
10) That ridiculous one note guitar line
11) The fact that the the OG version is just four notes of ridiculously over-done single entendre devoted to banging in a Jeep like an overture to the ridiculous party jam to follow
12) "Green Light" I'll go, "Yellow Light" Take it slow, "Red Light".... I'll stop.
13) The fact that R is so coy about previewing this remix and drops THE REMIX
14) All up in your greeeeeel
15) After the show it's the AFTERPARTY, and after the party it's THE HOTEL LOBBY, then around bout four you gotta CLEAR THE LOBBY, then you take 'em to your room and f*** SOMEBODY
16) bouncebouncebouncebouncebouncebouncebounce
17) How it is the slowest party jam ever. IT'S SO SLOW
It is so the greatest song of all time.
