Rolls off the tongue, I know...

So, I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to organizing my music collection.  I love to have everything meticulously sorted, and I'm unhealthily obsessive about my metadata.  So, naturally, this extends to album artwork.  I want the highest quality artwork possible and I've been on a long quest to complete this journey with the Beach Boys.  Unfortunately, I've been stuck, as it has become nearly impossible to find any HQ album artwork for studio albums post-"Sunflower".  Google Images and other relevant sites have not helped me.  So I turn to you.

What I mean by high quality:

1.  High resolution.
2.  At least 1,000 x 1,000 pixels or more.
3.  The exact same artwork as was originally released.  So, for instance, the artist name is in black at the top of the original LP release of "Carl And The Passions - So Tough," while the CD version is more prominently displayed on the bottom left in white.  I'm after the former.

I realize that most probably couldn't care less about this sort of thing, but I'd like to think a few of you here might.  So I start this thread with the hope we could eventually form some sort of list with all the proper HQ album artwork.

Thanks!

The Beach Boys just recently updated their Facebook to include significant points in history. If you click on an individual year within the timeline, you will be able to click on photos signifying their album releases. These photos seem to be high resolution and in the original colors/hues.

Great to see some replies!  I had given up hope!  Also, thanks for the links and information.  Now that I see some people are interested, I have updated the thread with the albums that have HQ artwork, which also fit the criteria at the top.  As you can see, there's a lot of albums done, but there's many to go, so with your help, I think we can put together something pretty cool.

Thanks!

So, for instance, the artist name is in black at the top of the original LP release of "Carl And The Passions - So Tough," while the CD version is more prominently displayed on the bottom left in white.

IIRC reading on this forum somewhere a few days ago wasn't it established that the record was originally released with no 'the beach boys' on the cover at all, or was that just in a few countries?

I am now slightly peeved* that my 'Mini LP' of CATP may not be accurate as it has the small black writing at the top!

*not really annoyed but it bothers the OCD fanboy part of my brain!

Well from my collection i would say the mini lp having the black lettering to be more accurate, as it was only issued as a single with the black "Beach Boys" on the top, whereas the original pressing lacked this but was a double album with Pet Sounds. So... a correct mini lp of the sing So tough would be accurate in having the black lettering

I think it more depends on where you source your original LPs. The USA was the double LP of course. The UK version had BBs in Black lettering. Brazil and Germany had BBs in White lettering

Most of them are still at album art exchange or whetever it's called. you just have to know the user id and change the titles around to fit the LPs.
Dog knows, if I can figure it out, the rest of you with your mighty intellects should be able to do it.

I hadnt really checked them out previously, but man do they look SHARP!

Kind of related, does anybody have high quality scans of the back covers of their albums? I've searched and searched but have only found a handful of low quality pics.

Uhm, so what is the point of posting these when each and every one of the links comes back with a 403 error?

It's because the site doesn't allow hotlinking.
