Ok i swear i have tried every single combination of notes possible (yes i mean EVERY ONE) trying to play along to Here Today on my bass. and i cannot get it. Did Brian invent a note or something while recording it? I mean did he somehow get an H sharp out of the bass? cuz i can't figure it out. Someone help if you have any info please

I just tried to figure it out the first part (verse) notes, here they are: (I just wrote down the names of the notes in the correct order)
higher A - (normal) A - D - A - B - E - B - A - D
higher A - (normal) A - E - A - B - E - B - A - E
second part: D - C# - B - A - Ab - Ab - Db - Db - F# - F# - F# - F - E - E - E - B - A - B
D - C# - B - A - Ab - Ab - Db - Db - F#
Db - F# - Ab
Db - Ab - A
Db - A - B
Db - B - C#
E - C# - (descending bass notes)
then the bass follows the main bass line: A - G - F# - F - E - F# - A - B (3 times)
4th time: A - G - F# - F - E -
E - E - Ab - B - (higher) E - B - A - E - F#
I'm pretty sure this is correct.
Hope this helps, if there are any questions, ask them.
Paul

I see there is a link posted as well. Hopefully the combination of the video and the note names provide you with enough info to figure out the bass line!

Another funky part of the song, and I may not even be correct about this, but in the middle section where it breaks down, it may do something like this:
Bm7/A . . . A . Bm7/A . . .
E/G . . . A7/G . E/G . . .
(x2)
(Right before it goes into the descending bass)
So the bass stays on a G even though there's a G# in the E chord. I haven't even confirmed that, just a suspicion that might relate to your curiosity.

Okay, we've had "Lonely Summer" asking for tabs for TLOS and WIRWFC, and now "Littebird" asking for tabs for Here Today.
I wish all these members of the new Beach Boys touring band would simple y use their real names, post the entire 50th anniversary tour set list, and ask for this help in a more honest way. That or just ask the old guy sat at piano, front-centre stage at rehearsals - he wrote the stuff in the first place!

Actually this is my favorite BB song. The other day I found a great perfomnace by Mike&Bruce's Band:

Unfortunately the sound is very distorted. Still the instrumental break gave me gooseflesh. Differently arranged drums, but very good result.
