They may do a song then do the intro of California girls.. then on comes Van Halen takes over the song followed by Katy Perry doing her bit.. maybe not
You do know that Van Halen never did California Girls, right?
But the lead singer in Van Halen did. Including the other 3 members would not be much of a stretch.

Yeah, David Lee Roth released it as a solo record just before he quit the band.  I don't think Ed would want to go there.
It's been over 25 years. He's probably over it by now.  Wink

The Brianista Prayer

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.
Amen.  ---hypehat

Hello, this is Ed Van Halen, who's this?....The Grammys?  What can I do for you?....You'd like us to perform?  Hell, yes, we'd love to.  We've got a brand new album out we'd like to promote and we could do one off that....What?....You're thinking of an old song of ours?  Well, I, umm, I guess we could do Dance The Night Away or umm Panama or....What?....California Girls?  But that's not even our....Who is this really?....Right, the Grammys.  No really, is this Dave?

It would still be fun to see Mike Love and David Lee Roth trading lead vocal duties. Smiley

I'm hoping for a "God Only Knows" with Brian on lead, won't be a dry eye in the house

I'm curious to see what band they use also
Here is my bet
*Totten
*Cowsil
*Sahanaja
*Bennet
*Mertens
*Gregory
*Walusko
*Foskett

Remove Nick Walusko and add Brett Simons and you have the band that's been officially announced there, so you should be pretty close.

As for Walusko not being needed, he probably isn't but I'd still like to see him in the band. If nothing else, while there are four guitarists on stage, there are only two *good* guitarists - Totten and Marks. Foskett and Jardine are both competent rhythm players, but I don't expect their guitars will add much of anything to the sound.
(Though having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if Probyn doesn't play guitar on at least some songs on the full tour.)

Jardine is actually a pretty decent rhythm guitar player in terms of his parts - he isn't just strumming ordinary chords for the most part. Adamghost did a nice write up of his time playing with him somewhere around here to this effect.

Foskett, on the other hand, has been quoted to the effect of 'I play enough guitar to have something to do with my hands up there'. But he's not primarily a guitarist on this tour, so that's cool. Walusko does great soloing work, but then with David Marks I'm not sure how necessary that is.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.
What is this "life" thing you speak of ?

Ugh well that's lame...
The Beach Boys — Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks, who have not performed together live in more than two decades — will reunite on the GRAMMY stage and join current GRAMMY nominees Foster The People and Maroon 5 for a special performance.

Ha I should change the topic title

No Bass player in that list , I know Scott Bennett is a multi-instrumentalist but if anything he will be the No2 keyboard player  , so you can add to that list Brett Simons OR just maybe we will have the core members plus a couple of the band MIMING the 1981 Medley  Undecided
Whoops.

No probably about it: she won't, or at any C50/BW shows in the foreseeable future, I suspect. It's been handled somewhat better than the Lizik/Hines fiasco, but you can't look at the last few years and come to any other conclusion than that she's out of the band.

She responded to the question on Facebook by saying she won't be part of the BBs reunion shows, but hopes to be back on tour with BW next year...

I want 'Shortenin' Bread'. In the extended version, with a rap section from Iggy Pop.

I will not have anything else. It's either my way, or the highway.

Tour line-up will have him in the middle with his good ol' keyboard then, pretty safe guess.

The ghost of Brian's beard told me they will walk on stage with Jack Reiley, perform Mt Vernon and Fairway, then walk off.
