Right now i'm listening to Wild Honey and Smiley Smile more than everything else in their catalog. Smiley
At first i was pure pet sounds but lately i've found myself addicted to their low quality sounding albums :D so this means friends might be next. lol
What era are you guys on right now? Surfing? Cars? Today? Pet Sounds? Etc.

I love all of the era's, but I mostly prefer the early Brother/Reprise era; Sunflower through In Concert.

Friends, 20/20 and Sunflower is my favorite era.

For the past couple days I've been really digging Carl & The Passions 'So Tough', Holland and In Concert era.

What I've been listening to hasn't been a specific era, rather: I got Friends on vinyl a few weeks ago and have listened to that a few times, also, I listened to Surfer Girl a week ago. Love the mellow feel of those records.

My favorite era is the Surfer Girl through Summer Days era. Just such a positive vibe flowing through those records.

I'll skip around, but lately the two eras I've been listening to most is Today! through Summer Days and Pet Sounds, and Friends through Surfs Up.

Right now i'm listening to Wild Honey...

I thought it was surprising and interesting that, in that newly-uncovered audio interview from January of 1968, that BW flatly said of WH, "We just made an R&B album."

Take it out of your CD player and BURN IT! Seriously, the KTSA/BB 85 twofer has to be the two-fer I've listened to the least, neither album does anything for me.

Somewhere from Today to Pet Sounds. Especially Today for some reason! I keep going back to hearing those sessions over and over.

Just got back into the Smile Sessions after putting it away for about 6 weeks.  Before that, it had been Pet Sounds.

20/20 to Holland. I never stop playing them. However the other night I listened to MIU/LA twofer all the way through for the first time in ages and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

So I have been on an 80's Beach Boys binge lately...Rock N' Roll To The Rescue! Where I Belong! I'm So Lonely! The Spirit of Rock N Roll!  Come on groove with me people! LOL

Live material from approx 1973 through the 93 Anniv soundboard and beyond.  Nearly everyone ever in the band is heard here,  and the material covered is career spanning.   This stuff is largely energetic and authentic, just the band and the touring musicians.

Lately, I've been listening to the era between Surfin Safari and BW Disney album.

I think everything from First Love (1978) to Country Love (1978) is especially jaw-dropping and can easily be compared to a mountain of fresh steaming hot excrement (fecal matter). Lately I've been doing A/B comparisons of "Problem Child" alternate mixes (instrumental version, single version and radio edit). Some days I compare the 3 versions of "Rock'n'Roll To The Rescue" (beach party mix, percadella mix and instrumental mix) but then other days I choose to go for more adventurous stuff like Salute NASCAR or Disco Celebration or Mike & Dean.

When is the "salute NASCAR" sessions box set coming out?

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591
