as interesting as this sounds (2 cds of new material) .. I think 12-14 new tracks is all we are going to see..

I think you're right. It's taken them years to re-record one track together. Fantasising about a double album is nice but unrealistic.

Heh - what next? Someone'll suggest they release the sessions for that SMiLE album thingie! Preposterous!

Even if it would be possible I think it's a terrible idea. Let them do one really good popalbum with new material (no re-recordings) and that's it. That would be great

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Whatever number it is, I just want an album of strong material and no filler.  If they have 8 great songs...then 8 songs it is.  No tagging on a few more weak tracks to round out a 10 or 12 track disc.

50 songs sounds great but way too ambitious. i think we'll be lucky if we get 10.

funny how the number 50 is right there on the cover of 15BO

I've always thought it was weird that Al's looking to the side and everyone else is facing the camera. are they trying to tell us something? is Al dead?

if you play the last few seconds of All I Want To Do backwards, you can hear 'I buried Al, I buried Al...'

I counted the tracks on Sounds of Summer and Warmth of the Sun and minus the covers, there are exactly 50 tracks combined.  I imagine that they'll just use those 50, substitute Heroes and Villains, Good Vibrations, and Surf's Up with the Smile Sessions mixes and replace Do It Again with the re-recorded version.  Plus they could put the songs in chronological order so that it doesn't look too similar.  I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they do.  Though they should include Caroline, No; the most glaring omission on both compilations even if it is technically a Brian solo track.

Not sure if I'm right, but I think that they intentionally didn't include any 'Pet Sounds' material on 'The Warmth of the Sun', because it was supposed to be kind of the ultimate third CD for the many casual fans who already owned 'Sounds of Summer' and 'Pet Sounds'. Kind of the expansion of the basic Beach Boys set, so to speak.
