I love the whole album but airplane or night was so young standout

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

the night was so young is a song that stands out in the beach boys discography
it's so beautiful.

The Night Was So Young
is one of their greatest, IMHO, a beautiful song; lovely and heartbreaking too. I've been listening to Love You a lot lately, and wow, it's a fine album; of course, it's a little quirky!
But, I was suggesting that
Honkin' Down the Highway
would have been great at the Grammies after GV. Would have been a great vocal spotlight for Al; the chord changes are very contemporary; the back up vocals probably a little easier to pull off than GV, not that GV wasn't a fine performance. I hope Honkin' gets into their live set!

They weren't going to perform anything that people weren't familiar with at the Grammys. Everyone knows the three that were performed, though.

The Brianista Prayer
Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.
Amen. ---hypehat
