The Pete Yorn song "Murray" (spelled like that) came up on my iPod. I had forgotten all about it, but clearly it's about Brian. The lyrics seem to perpetuate the idea that the BBs (specifically Carl and Dennis) abandoned their support for Brian during Smile. Any thoughts?
The lyrics are here: http://www.elyrics.net/read/p/pete-yorn-lyrics/murray-lyrics.html

Sample:
I know a man who lives under his covers
uh uh uh uh uh uh
Lost his mind from the TV
Now he’s playing God

And somebody told him that he was no good at
uh uh uh uh uh uh
He’s talking out of the left side of his mouth

And he won’t follow
These lines he’s drawn for him
And he don’t want to try
Seeing is believing
Lord knows what he sees here every night

I had never heard the song, but I was under the impression that Carl and Dennis were Brian's biggest supporters for SMiLE.

Yeah, I agree. Interesting how so many songwriters have written about Brian. The part I was talking about (about Dennis and Carl), from http://www.elyrics.net/read/p/pete-yorn-lyrics/murray-lyrics.html:

Three little boys dress up in the morning
uh uh uh uh uh uh
Come back home from the school yard
Talkin’ bout Love

But on this occasion the boys feel the same
uh uh uh uh uh uh
Something’s holding them back there
I bet it was their mom

And they won’t follow
These lines he’s drawn for them
Cause they don’t want to try
Seeing is believing
Lord knows what they see here every night

Are you sure it doesn't mean that they (Brian, Dennis, Carl) don't want to follow the lines that he (Murray) set for them?
