“There’s so many sing-along songs including, 'Barbara Ann' which was originally done by a group called ‘The Regents’ from New Jersey but it became a huge hit record for us.

“We would pause and let the audience sing the verse, ‘Help Me Rhonda, Help, Help Me Rhonda!' It’s a lot of fun!"

Yes, Al's back but I was wondering if the writer was confusing Mike and Bruce's group with the original members going to the grammys.

That line up first showed up for a BB touring group story early this year. Perhaps the first show after the Reagan gig.

A source of AGDs said it was incorrect from memory, as it has turned out to be.

edit

Found it.

Trouble is, the story's so sloppily written (or possibly sloppily edited) that there are several questionable parts. Fingers crossed, but I doubt it…

Don't bands receiving Grammys (sp - Grammies?) usually play though? Can't see Al and Brian being left out of that ceremony – and I hope to goodness Dave's there too – so perhaps we'll get a brief onstage musical reunion.  As this is the first mention I've heard of a Grammy, let's wait-see if further reports surface (further reports which aren't re-writes of this report).

No Al (yet) but we do get John Stamos.......

www.beachboysband.net  is up to date with Smile and the December tour schedule.

On the touring page it lists the Dec dates and says,

"THE BEACH BOYS featuring: Mike Love & Bruce Johnston
with John Cowsill, Tim Bonhomme, Scott Totten, Randell Kirsch, Christian Love
John Stamos - where noted.

*John Stamos has been a longtime collaborator of The Beach Boys,
having joined them for performances since the mid-1980s. He appears
on their song “Forever,” from the Beach Boys 1992 album Summer in Paradise.

the Grammy's should just be improved this year and ALL awards, every last one, be given to SMiLE.

The End.

We all wish, but the award will usually go to the worst, technologically altered voice.   I mean, the beach boys have never won a Grammy?   How is that even possible?   SMiLE deserves more recognition, I agree.

Mark-pull the first part of the song off comp real P0216643 and back to P0189510 for the chorus. Wait, sorry, it's on the second half of the 'our prayer' reel, P026636, 22 minutes in.  Tracks 2,4 and 5, see?  Wow, this is tiring work...

Didn't Al say quite early this year that everything (reunion, new releases, etc) will be announced at the Grammies ?

Has this appearance been confirmed?  I have verified that the Grammys will in fact include the reunion of a "legendary group", a description that fits an appearance by The Beach Boys, but I sure would like to know for certain.  I am offered a pair of tickets to the Grammys every year.  I have only gone once but this will be the year to accept if The Beach Boys are going to be there.

That's all I've got.  While I have the "reunion of a legendary group" from a reliable source, this information can also be found online.  In fact, I believe it was announced officially by The Recording Academy.  Some have said its going to be Van Halen and I just now read that The Recording Academy's official Twitter account referred to this announcement and said, "Does this make you want to Jump and Dance the Night Away"?  If that is the case, then it seems it is Van Halen.  I haven't seen the Twitter page, just the reference.  You should be able to find this information via Google.  So someone is reuniting at the Grammys, but right now I have no idea who.
