It was clear from the online sample that this track contains the CIFOTM like bridge that we also hear at the end of the Dada session. Having finally listened to the whole track, what's interesting is Brian moves from the bridge into a slightly different variation of the Cool Water melody via a weird ascending piano part (1.00). Part of this melody actually sounds just like the accapella melody starting at 3.13 on the Sunflower version, and then moves into a piece that could feasibly be the basis of the "in an ocean or in a glass" part.

There are is also a break where the vocals suggest Brian might have been planning to insert the water chant (2.43), so this version 2 sounds very much like it's shaping up to be the Sunflower version, except it has this weird CIFOTM piano part in it, and some extra embellishments after that. It's a fascinating listen and makes you wonder what form a fully realised Wild Honey version might have taken.

Just wondering if anybody else has any thoughts about this?

Spolier:

There's also a great anecdote from Marilyn in the book about how Brian got her to fill a baby bottle full of chocolate milk to drink whilst he was composing Dada! Kind of supports the theory that it was initially a song about a baby or was thematically related to CIFOTM.

Heroes & Villains: All Day. On the new Sessions release, this track features an interesting bassy piano descending section (at 1.30). Is this bit new? It doesn't sound like any other section from Smile.

Also fascinatingly, Brian says "Now in those spots we're going to have a bunch of talking. We need all of those together." I think he's referring to the pauses in the song, and reminding the musicians to be tight in order to form the pauses. So maybe the intention was some form of talking in those gaps - humour parts maybe? Raises even more questions about the nature of Dada.

Edit: I've modified the subject heading to in order to include this question about the All Day session. Hope that's cool.
