Hello everyone, my name's Quzi and I'm a relative newcomer to the wild world of The Beach Boys. While I don't have a heap of Beach Boys related knowledge to draw from like most here do, I'm fully eager to invest many an hour that I should be studying reading posts here, so I'm sure that'll soon change!
I fell in love with The Beach Boys' music about a year ago when a friend showed me 'I Just Wasn't Made for These Times', it was such a magical experience for me and I choked up on the first listen (I think that sad, sad theremin had a lot to do with it). Though 'I Just Wasn't Made for These Times' made me a fan of the music, it was the immensely interesting back story behind SMiLE that generated my immense interest with the inner-workings of the band. As my avatar may suggest, I'm a fan of dysfunctional groups with "what-if..." scenarios
It's hard to pick a favourite song, I love so many of them equally. That being said, I know I will always hold a special place for 'I Just Wasn't Made for These Times', primarily because it was the catalyst that enabled my fandom to grow. I'm not obscure enough to have my favourite Beach Boys album not be 'Pet Sounds', though I do unhealthily love 'Today!' as well (more so than I unhealthily love the other Beach Boys albums
).
Like many of you, I'm eagerly awaiting The Smile Sessions' release this year. I'm finding the wait painful for endure and I've only been waiting less than a year for it, I admire those of you that have held out for over forty years now!
Thanks for reading!
Quzi.
