It seems like some of that strange Smile spirit lingers on in BW still ...

I think it is torture to 'listen' to that song. Over rated in my opinion. The second worst song on WH just ahead of Mama Says.

There is no accounting for taste, I suppose. Wink It is my second favorite song just behind WIBN.

I don't know which is weirder...  the video itself or the fact that the video received a comment from 'Twilight Zone' legend Billy Mumy.

Really? Man you gotta love "Darlin"

Anyway, pretty accurate description of the video, I still laughed though

Darlin' really suffers when it's done too fast.  Also it really suffers when anybody but Carl Wilson sings it.

I think you mean "Lost In Space", a favorite of mine when I was a kid. Of course, when I grew up it was Barnes & Barnes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTpUVAcvWfU

FWIW I love Darlin'.

No, when I say 'Twilight Zone,' I mean 'Twilight Zone.'

I guess you've never seen one of the greatest TZ episodes ever.

Bill Mumy did at least 2 Twilight Zone episodes, but of course is better known as Will Robinson on Lost In Space.

Have you heard Darian sing it on a good recording or live? He absolutely nails it, it was one of the few highlights of the recent show in St. Charles IL.

That video is just plain weird though - I wonder what brought that all on??

Oh yeah, that ending still gives me nightmares - for some reason I keep remembering it as being Ron Howard, but Billy will always be Will Robinson to me.

Wonder if Darian, being the SMiLE expert he is, had Brian renact some of the skits from the SMiLE sessions. (Brian falls in a piano, etc.)

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591
