It indeed does sound like a Brian production. Was Brian heavily involved in an, albeir, non-producer capacity or was it Levine doing his best to make it sound like a convincing Brian production?

Wish I knew. To be honest, sounds like a demo, complete with an edit of exquisite subtlety.

The line "betcha boys we'll be doin' it in our eighties" is beginning to sound eerily prescient.  Shocked

Could you point it out? I'll have to take a listen and see if I can hear it.

Just out of curiosity, if you don't know who did the production, then how do we know that it's not a Brian production?  Grin

I think some "spring cleaning" needs to be done, in regards to mods on this board.

The "Jamie" quote makes up for it imo. But only barely. I hate the devil horns smiley because I used to frequent a Danzig forum (don't ask) and it was used every other post, at least.

Sorry, for 'edit' read 'punch-in'. As for the production, the 'wish I knew' was in (admittedly ambiguous) response to Brian's participation: I've been told by several folk in the studio at the time that Levine produced it.

I thought it was some kind of bizarre protest.

Really, there are a number of posters here who seem to be going insane over the past few weeks. I guess TSS can't come soon enough.

Seems I have that  (male ego) on a single somewhere in my collection of vinyl.  A flip side.  Anybody recall which 45 had that?  Or is it my imagination?

Also, I too was surprised to finally discover that song on the twofer.  I think I might have read it here.  For some reason I just stopped or changed the cd after the last track listed had played.  Is there a bit of a delay between the last song and Male Ego?

By the way, I'll go down as saying that the 85 lp was a better piece of work than KTSA.  I loved those CW rockers with the 80's production.  And I also liked I'M SO LONLEY.  Just Brian at his best in that coarse way that he had evolved.

Those hidden tracks could almost make a seperate thread.  Like 'Favorite Hidden Tracks".

I like the surf sounds at the end of the Mints lp with the Coors commercial.  I also like that weird backward thing at the end of Sgt. Pepper.

B side of "Getcha Back".

and Couldn't Get His Poor old Body to Move was on the flip of which song from Brian Wilson 88?

(I could go home and look through the collection but that would take hours)

"Love & Mercy"

You could, of course, look here - Bellagio 10452.

There was an interview in NME at the time in which the writer takes a call from Brian who is promoting the album by raving about his favourite song on it - Male Ego!

I'll bet Brian still basically Produced the damn thing.

He plays piano on the track, right? Levine probably just ran everything through the computer in order to make it all sound as generic 80s as possible.

Most of the song is piano and vocals. Did Brian arrange the vocals?

So, why was this song not on the 2000 Twofer??

Wasn't it on the original CD issue of BBs 85

Seems silly to me.

Just wondering....

LOL.I thought this thread might of been a discussion about AGD, going by the title.
My mistake.
