"Carnie Wilson is multi-tasking, but that’s hardly anything new.

“I’m in the studio,” she explained as her publicist patched her into our phone interview. Along with sister Wendy Wilson and friend Chynna Phillips — collectively known as Wilson Phillips — she’s recording an album of Beach Boys and Mamas and Papas covers."

From this interview: http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/saginaw/index.ssf/2011/06/its_a_family_affair_for_wilson.html

I actually somewhat enjoy the covers they do - it's hard to go too far wrong with such great material to work with.

If they had a good producer...say, a Brian Wilson-type...maybe it would be good.

When I was in London in February 2004 for the SMiLE concerts, I had a travel guide with me in which there was a photo of a London bus with a Wilson Philips ad on it. When I discovered that photo, I actually rode a bus. That was a bit weird.

Which one of Mike's daughters? Hayleigh could do a killer version of SOS -- she's got a great set of pipes.

No I haven't, so I can't tell whether you're bashing Mike Love or his daughter with this posting. Lips Sealed

And wonderfully creative songwriters. Can't wait to hear Stella McCartney munching on a radish on Wilson Philips' version of Vegetables.

Mate, I haven't even listened to the music of Wilson-Phillips.

But phrases like 'Leave it to your dad, girls', or 'I hate her films, but i'd tap that, amirite fellas' make you sound pathetic.

And you never answered the question  Wink

When the well runs dry, a band or an artist will usually go to the easiest thing to do-covers of other people's songs.  And this is their 2nd time doing that. So where do they go from here? Besides the bargain bin at Best Buy?

Since Cheap Trick did Sgt Petter. W-P could do the Smiley Smile album in its entirety. Heck, they can do it at home. Use the same production "values" Smiley
what could go wrong? Smiley

hahahahahaha   actually, i'd have to buy that if it came out.

Yeah, aren't they already there?  I like them, but that means squat.  Their time for "hits" is done, methinks. Which doesn't mean they can't keep trying, if some label is interested in paying for it.
