Hi
First, I've been a lurker for about a year now.
I've been into The Beach Boys for as long as I can remember.
Well, mostly Brian.  I can't stand Mike.  Maybe it's an unhealthy obsession with Brian, I dunno.
Anyway, I keep reading about this "Brian Talks with and About Spring.", sometime in 1971, Yes, I've done my homework.
Anyway, I've heard that there's a lot of flirting going on between him and Diane, since Marilyn had gone to bed since it was like 3 in the morning.
I've never heard this tape, but I really want to.
PM's, and emails sometimes do wonders.....Smiley

Definitely the most bizarre thing about this tape is, it was mailed out to rock mags & radio stations as a promo effort !

Recorded in the wee small hours of October 9th, 1971 at the home studio.

Yeah, nice little package.  5 inch tape in a plain white boxwith Brian, Marilyn and Diane on the front; includes a nice booklet, featuring Surf's Up lyrics on the front, and accompanied by this letter: 

     



I wonder if the "Rocket To Stardom" TV show, on which the Rovell Sisters won some trophies, recorded any thing onto tape. probably not.

Could someone Please Make my day with this one? Have never heard of this tape and its hard to find much info on how involved Brian was with the project (from what I can tell, not as much as I had previously thought).

WHY?  It's an old promo; United Artists is long bought out. They won't care. I can't see Brian/ Spring caring either. It's really no different than all the Radio ads I posted files for.

I have this tape. I found a copy sitting on a desk in Dick Clark's office on Sunset in Hollywood back in the 70's. I don't know what it was doing there, but I ripped it off. No kidding.

And if anybody doubts the closeness of Brian and Diane in the early 70's, you gotta listen to this.
