In 1995-96 Steve Dahl (I think it was) interviewed Brian about "Imagination" and played a crispy version of "Let him run wild"
(or a minute of it) that has not seen the light of day ever since. This version differs from the
one on "Imagination" and the '65 version. Why wasn't this version released?

Were there more songs recorded during those sessions that weren't released?

Dunno, but the production sounds MUCH better than on Imagination.

What!!! You mean Brian recorded something fantastic, then re-recorded and released an inferior version? Unthinkable......

I'd never heard that outtake before. Man, it's so good. So much energy. It really does sound better than the released version.

Sorry to post to such an old thread, but to answer the original question....I heard that broadcast, and Steve said something about how there was more stuff on the tape Brian and Joe dropped off, and asked if it was okay to play it on his show, and they said yes...since I can stand Steve Dahl about as much as I can stand castration without anaesthetic, I don't know if he ever did play any more stuff...
