Someone posted a link recently to a track by The Killers which blatantly ripped off the Bicycle Rider theme from H&V… and now I cannae find it. Could someone post the name of The Killers track so I can search it out and have another listen?

A few years ago a female pop artist incorporated bits of the instrumental Pet Sounds… I've also forgotten the artist / song title but it had the line "Come on let me take you there…".

And wasn't there a trance track by Air…

… and a Good Vibes steal by Norman Cook?

Blimey -  anyone think of other obvious thefts? There could be a tribute album in it!

Brilliant - many thanks for that, that explains why my search proved fruitless!  Grin

Does Brian get a credit on that? Even if it's a tribute, he still should get credited.

This blatant rip off could actually use a Mike Love/Brian Wilson lawsuit....

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

"Remember" by Air samples the drum intro from "Do It Again" to most excellent effect. Wilson/Love do not appear to get credited for that sample either, however.

I never knew that! Can't believe that doesn't get sampled more, tbh....

What does that little guitar riff come from? It's right on the tip of my tongue and it's driving me crazy!  Grin

Edit: Nevermind, I just realised it's from Pet Sounds.

I wonder if the Mynabirds are familiar with Dennis Wilson

It eluded me the first time too! That's so weird. Must just be hearing it over different chords, maybe?

there's a song on paul weller's first album that samples the 'caroline, no' percussion intro.
