Ya know, with all the caterwauling going on in the general messages, what with all the begging and pleading for sounds from the MOJO 45 to be sent for free, it's kinda sad that nobody has put up pics of the Mojo articles( cuz that would seem to be easy schmeesy) ( I'm not doing it)

But you do have it, right?   Grin

No worries, if I can find some time I'll give it a try.

Is the Carl piece from the same mag? Seems weird it's in English, while the rest is in Dutch? German?

yep...first page also says page 13, also has parts in english on it
confusing isn't it?  Smiley

I have that mag right here on my desk. It is (or was) a free Dutch magazine, but sometimes it has an English written article in it. These 3 scans belong to the same magazine. The small article that seems to be about BW's first solo CD, is an announcement on BW's forthcoming album Imagination.

hey bgas (or anyone else). would you happen to have this magazine? i think, but not sure, it was circus. may be wrong on the name. from 1971. cover had photos of leon russell, john l., led zep and the boys. title said "l e n n o n and russell vs. led zeppelin and the beach boys...solo artist vs the group". or something close to that. not that the article was earth shaking but it was a great time in my life and memories of my fav time of the group. mom threw it out. haven't seen that article in decades.
thanks in advance.

Yep. That illustration was done by a painter named Guy Peellaert for a Rock & Roll tribute book called "Rock Dreams", originally published in 1973. Rock writer Nik Cohn wrote the little caption underneith the picture.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

With the great music they were making in the early 70's, I wonder why the painter thought that they were in it for greed? By 1973, they weren't making the big bucks that would be coming their way in 1974 and beyond. If anything, The Beach Boys were paying their dues that had bypassed them at the beginning of their career. Great likeness of the guys, though.
