Does anyone yet know how the light will compare in terms of battery longevity/replaceability compared with Pink Floyd's Pulse?

I think I'll hang fire on this one.

Razz

Will the battery be replaceable? At that price I expect a BB (even if it's just Bruce) to come round and change the light bulb once a year.

Which begs the question how many Beach Boys does it take to turn/change a light bulb?

Regarding the "autographed litho" – anyone know who it's autographed by? This is all it says on the merchandise site:

"Autographed Lithograph

An image of the full band taken at Brian Wilson's house, inside the famed tent, where he wrote much of
SMiLE. Photo taken by Guy Webster.

Lithograph photo measures 12.5" x 10" plus a 1.5" border on 130# Endeavour Velvet Cover paper. "

Had assumed Bri, Al, Mike and Bruce, but now I'm thinking* Guy Webster?

I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

I personally can't wait for the EIGHT MINUTES OF ACAPELLA SMILE BACKING VOCALS! Starting giggling like an excited girl at the full box tracklisting. I CAN'T WAIT

Hmm the thought of extracting backing vocals from individuals songs just for the sake of clarity.  Not complaining mind you but what we are going to have here is an eight minute montage of useful stuff crammed together in one long track.  Someone is going to have to extract and identify what is what.

Does anyone know what the final MSRP of the box set will be?  I really wish I had ordered it when it was $110.   Sad  I was hoping to receive it as a Christmas gift and was not expecting it to be over 150 bucks.

Most are hoping it will cap out between $95-$110.  I'm thinking it will go a little higher somewhere between the $120-$140 range but that is just judging what I've paid for similar sets in the past.  Either way it's all speculation at this point.

Just a thought that I'll overake from AGD in another thread (or maybe this one?):
Will Nov. 1st be early enough for Smile to be considered for a Grammy ?

EDIT:
And might VDP's non-writing have something to do with the "fight" he and Mike had after BWPS ?

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

2.  Gee (0:51) - HuhHuh?

3.  Heroes And Villains (4:53) - that's longer than BWPS -  in fact its very long - not the Cantina version either

7.  My Only Sunshine (The Old Master Painter / You Are My Sunshine) (1:57) - normalish

2 & 3 look like the BWPS Heroes and Villains with Gee split off by itself (my guess).

7 might have false barnyard added back on (again, my guess).

Yeah, it certainly looks like My Only Sunshine will include the Barnshine fade.  1:57 is the perfect length.  Cool!

From wiki.

The eligibility period for the 2012 Grammy Awards is September 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011

Looks like 2013 then.

You know, people (that is, the less obsessed and knowledgeable) will hear the sessions when this thing comes out, and they will hear just how many vocals were actually recorded for the unfinished/abandoned album that allegedly had a lot of dissent from within, and they might just start to see the story differently.

This way of thinking always gets to me.  Why couldn't they have recorded the lyrics AND heavily complained about them?  As far as I know it IS physically possible to SING a lyric, (with feeling, too!) even if you don't like it very much!  Throw in the fact that, hey, you're already in the studio AND you're already PAYING for the studio time and engineers.

Love and merci,   Dan Lega
