Again as someone said up the chain for now the only reason we can assume that Van Dyke didn't do a write up for this set is because he didn't want to.

Not... exactly...

Exactly... what... then... ?

At the end of the day, though, there's Bruce's voice, clear as a bell, "won won won"-ing at the end of Wonderful.  In other words, he's singing on the freakin' Smile album.  And no one can take that away from him.  Go, Bruce!

I never knew that!

So.............is that the only part he sang during the entire SMiLE sessions? What else did he do in the studio, walk back and forth in his white shorts smiling and clapping his hands?

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

The Smile box set promo video was posted "officially" on the BB's YouTube channel:

Direct link here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvB0glRsolw

They replaced the stereo tracks with mono (I assume from the first disc) and it sounds amazing - especially Heroes.

I would if I actually surfed.  I suspect someone will buy it and post an hour long video on YouTube of them switching the light on and off...on and off...on and off.

It will be wondrously thrilling for the rest of us to all be there to witness that million dollar bash.  Wink

I would if I was bored of setting fire to Ł50 notes. The boxset and not eating for a few weeks will suit me fine.

I love, Love, LOVE all of AGD's little clues.  He should be dressed in a trenchcoat, ala "DeepThroat" in "All the President's Men", croaking out clues in a parking garage........ "Follow the Wild Honey....."

So what do people think is the deal with Heroes and Villains Part 1&2? We know that only two songs were sourced from acetates, Child and Teeter Totter of Love. That means that if an acetate of a two sided Heroes single was discovered, Mark and Alan were able to recreate what they heard using only multitracks, either that or a master tape of a two sided version was discovered. It doesn't appear that Mark and Alan were that, well, imaginative with their mixes. I had expected a whole disc of nothing but alternate mixes and sequencings, but it seems they weren't interested in doing that.

Now Alan has posted here before as to the mysteries of Heroes and Villains, he's fully aware of the confusion that exists regarding the various "parts", so I really don't think he and Mark would just toy with us like that.

I think either they did find a source for the 7 minute version, or they very diligently, using Brian's own labels, recreated the ordering with the blessing and perhaps input of Brian.

From the video:

"2 LPs in gatefold artwork featuring the proposed original album tracklisting and session outtakes".

Assuming this isn't The Handwritten List then, as that doesn't seem to be regarded as final and definitive by those in the know.

Is this something that surfaced during a trawl of the documentation from 66/67?  As obsessives bordering on psycho-passives I think we should to be told!   Grin

n.b. "Not Final Art - Changes may be made in the final steps of production."

Not terrible, but I'm hoping Best Buy or some other vendor gives away (or sells) a t-shirt with the Smile shop on it!

That's the great bonus of having someone like Alan on board: he's basically one of us. I'm sure he's seen to it that we will have some nice little surprises...

I interpret this in the opposite way that you do.  I'm pretty much expecting the LP to feature an authentic reproduction of the back cover we all know with the "proposed original album tracklisting" being the 12 tracks from the handwritten list (with 'Villains' spelled correctly and an UNFILTERED photo of the guys in checkered shirts, finally!).

Does anyone yet know how the light will compare in terms of battery longevity/replaceability compared with Pink Floyd's Pulse?

I think I'll hang fire on this one.

I don't know Amazon still misspelled "Villains" in their recent listings I believe.  Maybe someone is working off the incorrect spelling?
