Feb 24 1971 a date that should be recalled-BBs appeared at NY's Carnegie Hall and showed they still had what it took.  The beginning of a long road back to superstardom.  Two shows were planned but not enough tickets sold so there was only one-and Carnegie Hall isn't that big a venue.  By 1976 BBs were playing three SRO shows at the much larger Madison Square Garden-an amazing comeback.  From has beens to one of the biggest grossing tour acts on the planet in 5 years time and it really started with the Carnegie gig. People I know who were there-swear it was one of the best shows ever-and I can believe it-with Carl and Dennis peaking and both in great physical shape and Mike and Al and Bruce all really contributing as well.

The one-two punch of the 2/24 Carnegie Hall show and 2/28 Symphony Hall show (there is no bootleg of the Agora show on 2/25) is amazing...they blaze out with a selection of hits and lesser-known material, all members are on fire. It's my favorite year for live BBs.

Mike was asked during his Goldmine interview back in '92.  Dave also gives his recollections of the Boston show in "The Lost Beach Boy" book.

And???  What did Mike have to say?  In my memories, (as well as my photos from that first time, & 16mm films of the next time), there was quite a significant change from the first Carnegie show to their return shows.  Going to have to get ahold of recordings of the shows to refresh my recall...

Does anyone know of a way to get a hold of the Carnegie Hall shows without RAR files being involved?
