Imagine any one of The Beach Boys were to appear on American Idol in their prime without forming the band or being famous; just regular jagoffs with voices.

How do you think the reception by the judges would be? Or better yet, enact each judge's particular reaction.

None of them would get to Hollywood. Now if Dennis showed up with Carl's voice and sang "God Only Knows", Carlis Wilson could win the whole thing.

BRIAN - His strength is in the studio, not as a performer.
CARL - The Judges would really like his voice, but he wouldn't get a lot of votes because he is a    bland performer.
DENNIS - I think he would have a great chance to go somewhere. Great performer, good  looking. The judges may not like his voice, but I am sure they would notice his passion.
MIKE - Not sure his vocal style would work on that show. Especially the first round acapella.
ALAN - Nope
BRUCE - The judges may like his vocal style. But he doesn't have a stage presence.
BLONDIE - He has the best chance of all of them!!
RICKY - Hard to say, since I haven't seen footage of him singing up front (Anyone?)
DAVID - no
JOHN STAMOS - He would be the poster child for that kind of show.

I can't stand that show, but this would be a good time to point out that I have been in musical stage performances with Timothy Urban.

Is it wrong that I've actually imagined Brian producing Siobahn?  Yeah...okay...I'm a mark for AI.
Can you imagine, though, if the contest was just the Beach Boys listed above?  Also, if you include Stamos, might as well include Foskett.

Simon: "Sorry, it was rather hard to hear your voice underneath all that extraneous blubber."

(Sorry, Jeff.)

Blondie, Dennis followed closely by Carlis.

Mike's not a Hawthorne boy. The Hawthorne guys stuck together. The Wilsons and I always had a special bond. We felt like we were a team.
