Nice tribute that smoothes over the rough edges (proving to  disbelievers who need 'finished' recordings for their evidence  that this is indeed a great Wilson song), but with them goes some of the pathos. The string arrangement's a bit lesser too, though the conclusion is very strong and original in compensation (if a little overextended.)

It's a great song to begin with, but his version is just okay. It really drags a bit at the end with the extended instrumental section.
