AGD -

are you moonlighting for that Baker person, or his publisher?

Nope - he died some time ago. I just rediscovered the book in a box: it's about a legendary record producer from the early 60s who became a recluse and how a DJ who's a fan gets to know him. Great sense of time & place, damn funny as well. But not a book you'd let your mom read. Probably.  Grin

Hmmm...sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out. I've learned in my 31 years to ALWAYS trust a book recommendation from s good author.

Oh my God, yes i read it. My brother bought it for me as a joke birthday present, not actually thinking I would read it...but then I did.

That gave me some weird dreams for a few days.

The descriptions of the "song" (can't remember of the top of my head..."Tidal Wave of Sound"...?) are excellent...made me go back to River Deep Mountain High several times, but the ending, with the revelation, the contents of the bag...dear god, that is twisted.

So, Spector's in jail now, huh?

The cover (of the paperback) is worth the price alone:

Nobody really reads anymore. They just skim over information and look at pictures.

I do. I am in a Dickens phase. 500+ pages, very small print. Gorgeous stuff.
