I was at a record fair last Saturday and saw the Ariola version of "Surfin' Safari". It was 75 euros, it was not in a very good condition ('fair' at best) and I don't think the dust sleeve was authentic (looked too 'new' and wasn't the same as the one pictured in the "This Whole World" book). I didn't buy it, cause 75 euros is more than I'd want to spend on any 7" single, even if it's really rare... But was it very stupid to not buy it for that price?  Embarrassed

I've seen the 45 as well. €75,- is way too much if you had seen the condition it was in. Looked like someone had used a grinding machine to polish it. The companysleeve was a reproduction, 100% sure about that (I have an original Ariola-comp.sleeve at home)

6 months ago, on that very same recordfair, the same seller tried to sell it for 100,-. I tried to get a discount, but he wasn't planning on even lowering the price a single Euro. Saying it was a rarity. Well, I knew that, but I'm not going to pay such an amount for a 45 that is in such a horrible condition. And as there wasn't a recordplayer nearby, to check if the scratches weren't that bad, I gave up.

Saturday, when I saw it lying there again, for 25,- less I thought "I might buy it next time I'm there when he has changed the price in 50,-..."

Check out the Beach Boys Starline website, the place for pictures of many countries Beach Boys releases on 45.

Listening to you I get the music; Gazing at you I get the heat; Following you I climb the mountain; I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you I see the millions; On you I see the glory; From you I get opinions; From you I get the story

Gotta be quick then, cause if it's 50 euros in April and I see it first, it's mine!  Wink

I've always wondered about this single.  Which version of Surfin' Safari is on this record?  The Capitol version, or the Hite Morgan version?

It's the one on Side two of Lost And Found.
