Can anyone tell me when Bruce recorded this jingle?  My copy of Surfin' Rarities says 71; I read 74 somewhere else.  Thanks.

Oh yeah...

And does Bruce sing bvs on California Music's Why Do Fools Fall in Love (not according to Surf's Up, but maybe someone knows otherwise) and London's A Lonely Town (I've always assumed he's on it, but the info in Surf's Up indicates he was just producing it)?

...think think think.....
Early 1972 is the first thing that comes to mind...right around their performance at the Grand Gala Du Disque in The Netherlands...(Veronica is/was a Dutch radiochannel)...I'd say February 1972.

Rule of thumb, think BEFORE you post. And THINK how it may affect someone else's feelings.

Check out the Beach Boys Starline website, the place for pictures of many countries Beach Boys releases on 45.

Listening to you I get the music; Gazing at you I get the heat; Following you I climb the mountain; I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you I see the millions; On you I see the glory; From you I get opinions; From you I get the story

December 1970. Read it in a Dutch interview with Juul Geleick, who recorded the session.

just checked a recording of the Beach Boys Story on TROS Radio. According to this broadcast Bruce had already left the group, but was in Holland to help record with the BB and in between sessions he recorded this jingle in the Veronica-studio's, together with technician Ab Bouwman.

Have a hard time believing this story though...I'd still guess Feb. 72.

The exact date for the Veronica station call was Tuesday December 15, 1970. The Badman book says so and for once he’s right. I remember that time in particular because, and there Badman went wrong, Bruce did a solo performance of Tears In The Morning for TV. He also visited the Veronica Studio, in Hilversum, to do the famous station call. Luckily they preserved the whole recording and not only the end result. Radio Veronica in those days was an offshore illegal radio station, but the tapes were recorded in their studio in Hilversum.

That's correct. The book Avro's TopPop also says that Bruce was in the studio on December 15.

Bruce sings bvs on "London..." (but not Brian - the song is by Dave Edmunds, not California Music) and also "Fools", which is a BW/Melcher co-production.
