Well, finally I uploaded something of mine. Here's the track only, the singing was too bad imo. But I have to say too that this song isn't very easy to sing, so I wait for a better singer than me to do it. I wrote this myself and it's called "Buffalo". It might get a little boring after a while, but that shouldn't be the case with singing. Let me know what you think about it.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I've just listened to it. Is the part placed centerish (slightly right?) largely the melody you would be singing, or is the vocal line entirely different? If that is the vocal melody, perhaps you could post the lyrics here, and we could imagine or sing them while listening.

I think it has some interesting elements, but it's tough to give much comment without it more fully realized.

One thing I would suggest is, if you can, to get a metronome or use some click track function of whatever software you've got to keep the tempo more consistent.

As I'd say to anyone who finds fun in writing, performing or recording: keep doing it. The world can always use more art and more artists.

Thanks for your comments Luther and MBE !

@Luther: No, the melody is different, although at some points you can hear it out on teh track I guess. I'll try to sing it once again, but I'm not the ebst singer and this one is a bitch to sing, although it sounds quite easy if you hear the finished product. I also don't have that great equipement. I recorded this analog and recorded it then to my PC. As I also don't know much about the technical stuff, is a Shure SM58 good for recording voices? I know that it's one of the most usual mics but I don't know if it is used normalyy for instruments or voices.
Oh and yes, the tempo is not right at some point (I think the leadguitar is too fast at one or two moments) but I was happy to have a decent take and couldn't wait to try recording it to the PC. I also don't see this as a finished recording but just a demo. I have to buy a metronome someday.... Smiley

@MBE: McCartney, hm? I think I could live with that...  Grin Grin
(BTW I don't know much stuff from his early solo-periode. Maybe I should give it a listen)

I'll try to get it done, but I can't say when I am "finished" with that. Maybe today, maybe just in one or two weeks. Dunno. I will post it here...

I agree with MBE, a bit Macca-ish - nice! And also a tiny bit  Early Genesis-y

Try McCartney from 1970 and Ram from 1971 both are great and the first has a lot of guitar picking that sounds like yours.

Thanks. I'll try to check them out. I know some of those songs from the McCartney-unplugged official bootleg.

@matt-zeus: Thanks for the comment.

I already have another song up. With and without vocals. Will post it in another thread when I have time
