Carl Wilson and Al Jardine as photographed by the Box Tops in 1968

Founding Box Tops bassist Bill Cunningham added these startling color shots of Carl and Al on tour circa August 1968 to Facebook. The one of Carl in full-blown Chuck Berry axe mode was taken by "Cry Like a Baby" guitarist and fellow Box Tops bandmate Gary Talley. Unsure if they have been seen before.

I've ssen those too as posted by Bill on Facebook. I also posted the link to Ian's Beach Boys Gigs site in case they have more pictures they would like to share or just for checking out the website.
I think that at least the picture of Carl and Al backstage is well known though. Wasn't that one even in the 15 Big Ones gatefold?

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I didn't know that Telecasters had a "whammy bar".

The standard Tele does not have a Bigsby. But yes, a model with a Bigsby did exist although not too many were made:
