Question about 'Brian Falls Into A Piano'

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to figure out the voices behind this Smile skit. Specifically at the end of the edit on the Smile Sessions, who is it that says "I wanna be round my vegetables." Is it Parks? Does Parks appear in this skit at all?

The skit was recorded in November of 1966 with the "Vosse Posse" (Michael Vosse, David Anderle, Van Dyke Parks, Danny Hutton etc). Not sure who says the Vegetables line though, but Van is the one who yells what sounds like "what a thing to burn!" near the end.

I think he sings "What a thing to happen!"

No that's Danny Hutton (not VDP) - "What A Thing To Happen!". The line is from Danny's 45 record on MGM about a year earlier "FUNNY HOW LOVE CAN BE"

Isn't it VDP doing a parody of Danny Hutton?

To me, it sounds like it could very well be VDP. It has that nasal timbre that I hear on VDP's own records.

Brian Wilson, Van Dyke Parks, Michael Vosse, David Anderle, and Bob Gordan (or Gordon) are the voices on that and the other skits.
Can anyone point me to where Danny Hutton is either heard or mentioned on those tapes? All of the guys listed above are called out by name or are so recognizable during the session, but I don't recall hearing anyone say "Danny" and he wasn't one of the voices actively participating. Yet I've seen it reported that Danny was there...maybe in the booth? Anyway, if someone can point to where Danny is clearly heard or referenced, please fill us in.

At 1:18 on the Smile Sessions edit Brian says (in a surprised voice) "Danny, what's happening? Where'd Danny come from? He just suddenly showed up." But if Cam Mott's suggestion that the person singing "What a thing to happen" is VDP mock-singing a Danny Hutton song, then it would make sense that Brian is jokingly pretending to be fooled into thinking that Danny Hutton is really there.

Yeah, I don't hear Danny there at all and never did: No one addresses him by name, and all the other voices heard on all those skits line up with the names mentioned in the conversations (and other tapes). No one addresses "Danny" directly, and I think that reference was indeed a put-on and a joke. I think the main participants are the names I posted above.

I had no problem recognizing Danny's voice with the bit of his vibrato heard there, not at all sounding VDP

I'm going to have to go with Cam Mott on this. His suggestion that VDP is parodying Danny Hutton's voice and then Brian's reaction just make a whole lot of sense to me.

In roughly 45 minutes or so of continuous tape, there is no "Danny" and his voice is nowhere to be found among those talking and participating in this session. And that's beyond what made it to the Sessions box set. I believe as has been said it was a send-up of Danny's song that was a joke. If Danny were there, my bet is on the fact we'd at least hear him engage in the proceedings, or even be called out if he's in the booth. He was not.

Thanks for that well-informed and, I think, definitive answer.
