As i'm going through my old papers, I'm finding some BB related materials that might be of interest to some in the spirit of amassing a group paper archive of original materials (as opposed to book re-prints or online transcriptions). Not certain about violating any potential copyright issues here, so let me know if this is kosher. I'm mostly interested in reading articles and seeing published photos I may have missed over the years in their original, musty formats.

If you visit the MEDIA section, and do a bit of searching, you'll find this was posted sometime back, along with ALOT of other mags. mostly courtesy of the Once and Future Exalted Master Highness Steve Mayo( think that's his preferenced title)
It's really easy to do, ya know?

Back in the Summer of 2011, looking for info on the SMiLE Sessions Box, I came across a link to the Media section here at Smiley.

I didn't have anything of what I read growing up.  My Dad didn't see any value to it, and tossed it out after I left home.  So, the Media section was my go to place for reading old articles.  Steve Mayo had such a great collection.  You too, bgas.  Many of the import (UK) magazines, newspapers ect. I'd never seen.  I will always be indebted to all the hard work scanning takes by the dedicated fans here.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Thank you, feelsflow - I had no idea about that section. I should have known better - saves me a lot of wasted redundancy.

Yes, but thanks anyway for posting these - I had seen quotes from the first, but never the whole thing, and who knows when I'd get around to reading through everything in the Media section!

+1.  Fascinating stuff, and a good reminder of what's to be found over in the media section.  Glad to read they didn't erase Brian's GT lead during the Spring sesh's.

Yes, thanks for sharing! Timothy White's review is a joy to read. A great reminder of what a unique and achingly personal record Love You really is.

Where is Steve? Undecided

still here..dropped by and saw this. haven't been here often lately for the following reasons:

a) dad died april 25th. been busy with all the estate stuff and putting his house on the market.
b) a fellow coworker at the store I work at has NHL- had to go on chemo right away. not good. so I have had to work lots of extra days covering his shift. I work 12 hour day so I get tired after working 70-90 hours week after week for the past 2 months.
3) around middle of june I was working on the limestone rocks in my yard on the bank of the ohio river where I live. cutting the weeds down. slipped and fell backwards and messed up my back. slowly recovering from that.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Steve. I hope things improve for you.

I've enjoyed reading your past magazine scanning efforts, so thanks for sharing.
