Have any BB members ever watched Troop Beverly Hills, Cocktail, Police Academy 4, The Telephone, Girls on the Beach, etc all the way through?  There are LOTS. And if so, theater or home video?

I'm gonna guess only a small handful of the films their songs are in have been viewed by the members. Maybe American Graffiti, Girls on the Beach, Cocktail, and a couple more.

While I wouldn't have an answer to this, I'm reminded of Michael Caine when asked what he thought of Jaws 4: The Revenge.

"I have never seen it but by all accounts it is terrible.  However, I have seen the house that it built and it is terrific."

I'd really, really like to picture Brian Wilson sitting back and watching Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol from start to finish. And then being amused by Jones (Micheal Winslow) and his sound effects, and then using him to do SMiLE-esque sound effects on future BW albums.

Maybe Landy at least watched it.

36 years ago, a friend of mine who was friends with the band actually went to see Americathon with Carl, and I think Bruce and Alan, during a stopover in Chicago.  As I recall the story, they were amused with the placement of the song... but not impressed with the movie.

D'oh! Corrected  Grin

I in fact just acquired a free copy of the Troop Beverly Hills Blu-ray, which made this question pop into my head...

That's too funny. I wonder if anyone in the theater recognized the band members... and separately, I also wonder if anyone else went to see that film in the theaters for the sole reason of the BBs being on the soundtrack. I could imagine the turd quality of that film causing BBs to not go out of their way to see future films with their songs in them!

I remember seeing a commercial for "Americathon" on TV when it came out and saying, "That's got to be the Beach Boys singing.  Now I have to go see the movie!"  I dragged my best friend to the movie, just to hear the whole song. The movie was awful.
