Apparently it's from his new album of the same title, which is available for pre-order in the UK now. Out October 14th.

Agreed! Took a few listens for me, but it's definitely a grower. Very catchy.

I liked it five seconds in. I haven't dug anything Macca's done since...I've been born! Or earlier. Really looking forward to this.

(there is a clear Brian Wilson influence here, does anyone else hear it?)

darn he still sounds great!

his voice can still deliver the goods!

if the rest of the album has this vibe, ill definitely get it......

however, a lot of Pauls later stuff is ''so so' to me...... but this is the best thing ive heard since 'young boy' and 'beautiful night' from 'flaming pie'...

He is still in really good voice. I think the backtrack gets a bit tiresome though... This song is not more remarkable than any pseudo-Beatles song one would find on a Ringo solo album. I do like the ending bit. As has been said, very Brian-ish. 3/5

Wow, Paul can still hit them high notes like it was 40 years ago. Yeah, I hear some Brian influence; also hear some Sparks in there.

I like the tag but the song hasn't clicked for me yet.

So-so. The melody is quite forgettable, too cliched. I don't even like the tag - sounds like The King's Singers were invited to the studio for going pseudo-BBs which in turn Paul, of course, admires. Imo not a good idea coz I'm not a fan of that former a cappella band.

I have never, in my 38 years of life, heard The Kings Singers being referred to as an a cappella band.  LOL

What is this, then: The King's Singers - Good Vibrations?

Is that all you know about them? They are a very highly respected ensemble performance group. I find their arrangements highly imaginative and entertaining. Their performance of Renaissance period works are without peer.

Tbh, yes, that's all I know. But then again, why would Wiki list them as a British "a cappella" vocal ensemble? Nevertheless, thanks for explanation, pixletwin. Sure will check their other works.

Sorry if I came off as condescending, not my intention.

"a cappella" definitely applies to them. It was referring to them as a "band" which I thought was strange.

My personal fave from them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foRFwBpRTOQ

(sorry for the OT folks!)

It's alright - his voice still seems a bit thin (better than the whispering of Kisses On The Bottom), reckon he should stop touring/at least stop playing immense arenas to save his voice before he goes all Bob Dylan. It's got a very Smiley Smile thing going on in the fade, I guess. I am mildly put off by the fact it's produced by talentless churl Mark Ronson, but it doesn't sound very much like him. Look forward to the rest.
