What decided me against buying it besides the price, many typos and some wrong information was the section on John Stamos. Sorry, he's not a Beach Boy honorary or what ever they called it. His own chapter.

True, but this is an unofficial magazine aimed at as wide an audience as possible. John Stamos is still some sort of cultural reference point for people in the 20's and 30's.
Besides that, there are some great photos I haven't seen elsewhere. Some mistakes as well. I like the photo where David Marks is identified as "unknown musician" when he's correctly identified in other photos. I guess this magazine was thrown together by committee and rushed out to capitalize on the tour.
As others have said, the fact that such a thing even exists at all makes it a novelty purchase.

I liked it, like others have said, when else will you be able to buy a 100-page magazine devoted to the Beach Boys?  There's some errors and so forth but such is life.  And I enjoyed the John Stamos section, they didn't really paint him as being a huge part of the band or anything- it does a good job of explaining his involvement for more casual fans.

I've been in 42 grocery stores, 36 Targets, and 57 more Walmarts than I ever want to step foot in (okay, one Walmart), and there's no sign of this thing. And I hear tell there are photos. Wow. I just found this magazine at a Giant Eagle Supermarket in Pittsburgh, PA.

In South Dakota there used to be grocery stores named Piggly Wiggly!

I can attest to that, since they're still all over the south.  South Carolina, Georgia I see them all the time.

if you still are looking for a copy i can help you out. local walmart here has about 15 copies in the magazine section. i could easily pick up a copy for you and send it your way if still needed.

Thanks Steve, very kind, but I'll pass for now at least. In about 15 minutes I'm hitting the road for a beach vacation (very appropriate) so if I don't have any luck finding one down there, I'll come crying back to you.

I thought it was interesting that Mike admits to smoking pot in this, and says that he quit when he got into TM.  I have always seen him deny using any type of substance.

There's one picture in the SMiLE Sessions book (the BBs in Brian's tent) where everyone is very noticeably stoned, including Mike.

Bought this mag at a CVS drugstore today. Very nicely done, good photo selection.
