As in: "title for this album by Barry Turnbull".
I'm sure this question must have been asked before, but I can find no info on the fella anywhere. It seems odd that of all the people who could have been credited on the cover of Smiley Smile, only the engineer (Jim Lockert) and the guy who suggested the title got a name check. Not even the cover designer is credited!

Anyone any ideas?

Maybe he was a drug buddy of Brian's who wigged out during Smile and came back during Smiley Smile.

A piece in Ear Candy (see http://earcandy_mag.tripod.com/rrcase-2.htm), in mentioning that Barry Turnbull was credited with naming the Smiley Smile album, had a hyperlink in his name to a guy by the same name who, at the time the article was written, apparently was an announcer or talk show host at KVEN radio in Ventura.  So maybe he was a radio guy back in the day?

Barry Turnbull was Brian's cousin who was 13 at the time of Smiley Smile and accompanied Brian on a trip to te redwoods in 1966. He is from the Korthof side of the family.

Page 43. I've seen that pic before - we all have - but never in full color.

BTW, to all those people who were waiting on what Diane had to say about the sessions... prepare to be disappointed.
