Hi everyone,

I have uploaded the six preview tracks from The Smile Sessions on-line. Good Vibrations and Heroes and Villains mp3's are freely available, Vega-Tables and Vegetables Sleep A Lot (Chorus) are extracted mp3's while Cabin Essence and Wonderful were extracted from the Mojo Lp's on youtube. It's 35 mb in all, if you want the link..pm

BTW, I'm sharing because I can't understand Capitol's lack of promotion at the current time. Apart from the Smile Sessions clip on Amazon, where are the printed media reviews? The lack of promotion feels like it's 1966 all over again!

"It's more blessed to give than receive"

“For me, making music has always been a very spiritual thing, and I think anybody who produces records has to feel that, at least a little bit. Producing a record . . . the idea of taking a song, envisioning the overall sound in my head and then bringing the arrangement to life in the studio . . . well, that gives me satisfaction like nothing else.”

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

I don't know at what point reviews should be trickling out. In the music press we've had the Uncut review so far, and it looks like Mojo missed the boat and will be doing it next month. By the sound of it preview streams were only opened a week or two ago so it's unsurprising that Uncut appear to be the only reviewers. I doubt it's unusual that reviews appear in these magazines a few weeks prior to release but I may be wrong. I expect we'll get more coverage in the 'December editions' of the music press.

As for newspaper reviews, they only tend to appear the week of release as far as I'm aware. I'm sure The Smile Sessions will get much more coverage in the days surrounding the release.

It's tempting to compare this to the huge exposure the BWPS tour got, but I think that was much more of a story with the human interest aspect of Wilson himself confronting demons with the live performances etc. This, to the world at large, is just another archival release and as such only really interesting to muso's and rock snobs (and cool-head Beach Boys fans like ourselves of course!).
