The album, entitled "The Illegal Smile," features samples from the instrumentals for the unreleased Beach Boys album, as well as a similar concept to what the album would’ve been. Although their excitement for the album is clear, they admit that making it has not been an easy task...

And the really interesting thing about it is, the band is a hip-hop band. Using SMiLE samples. Interesting, indeed.

The title explains all I guess but after the discussion on the SMiLE artwork ownership, just who owns the uncompleted tracks and snippets?

I also wonder if the new group is aware of how keen on litigation the Beach Boys have been over their history? They would be setting themselves up for some court time with this project I would expect.
