The reason I gave Pet Sounds 4.5 out of 5 stars is because I dislike the two instrumental tracks. In my opinion, they are flavorless. As for SMiLE, I can't give it 5 stars because it feels incomplete to me. I've only heard the Purple Chick version, though, and have yet to pick up the SMiLE Sessions set.

Let's Go Away For Awhile is one of the most layered and complex Beach Boys songs I've ever heard.

Strings, Horns, woodwinds, acoustic guitars, bass, the drums, electric guitar - it's everything but flavorless.

Edit: And definitely pick up the box set for SMiLE. And if you don't have the box set for Pet Sounds get that too.

'Vega-tables' alone will bump your rating up to 5 stars Grin
