I can't help but think:

Brian Wilson presents Smile: goes top 50 in Europe
Mike attempts lawsuit and looooooses big time

Brian performs LOS and gets re_instated to Captitol for upcoming release.

Dennis Wilson has POB re-released and while the lp is still not officially available in half the world, it goes to top 10!

Could it be that the "years ahead of its time" claim by many music critics and fans is suddenly showing its head "years after its time" so to speak?Huh??

I think so. It must be like in the 19th century when all of a sudden JS Bach was getting begining to receive the wide spread attention he deserved. Its kind of cool to witness.  Cool

I remember when Endless Harmony, Greatest Hits, etc. were being prepared and fans were clamoring for more Dennis representation on those discs, Brad Elliott argued repeatedly how Dennis' material was not commerically successfull (of course Mike Love made the same arguments) and therefore much of his stuff was not included.  The success of this release shows that although Dennis's stuff wasn't a hit at the time it was released, indeed it is commercial and has broad appeal.

I remember being laughed at for admitting I liked the Beach Boys, and that was back in the mid 1980's. Now most people who have some sort of interest in rockk music know what Pet Sounds is, know the myth of Smile, and are now about to be exposed to DW's talents. Kind of like geologist Eugene Shoemaker having his impact theory massively proven with SL-9 impacting on Jupiter in such a spectacular way, silencing those who scoffed at his theories for a good quarter century prior to it.

Brad was a con artist who didn't realize talnet when he heard it. Yet he did do the vinyl Bamboo boot so who knows.
