Shared on Instagram, some really beautiful songs which producer Jonathan Wilson claims were the last recordings Brian ever worked on (man, it hurts to say that):

The first song sounds like Matt Jardine singing. Does anyone know anything about these recordings?

Thanks for sharing!

The first link sounds like it has elements of 'From There To Back Again' in the harmonies, wonder if, since it's connected with JT, it is part of the life suite material.

Gets me thinking that I really hope Brian's camp is able to get some material like this released in the coming years. He has so many outtakes, demos, songs, etc that really deserve to be heard. I don't know how feasible such a project would be, but it sure would be popular amongst us Brianistas.

God must’ve smiled the day Brian Wilson was born!

"ragegasm" - /rāj • ga-zəm/ : a logical mental response produced when your favorite band becomes remotely associated with the bro-country genre.

Ever want to hear some Beach Boys songs mashed up together like The Beatles' 'LOVE' album? Check out my mix!

The captions on the videos indicate these recordings were done fairly recently, and there's also the comment about them being the last songs Brian worked on. I wonder if Brian revisited the "Life Suite" in the last few years.

Right?  Even if it's just an online dump like they've done on Brian's official website, just to keep costs down.

Interesting stuff.

I'd suggest grabbing these tracks if you're interested; these might get pulled.

Sounds like Joe was involved, but remotely. Do we know if Brian worked with Joe post-No Pier Pressure? I'm not sure these tracks would post-date the 2018-ish tracks he cut for the "Long Promised Road" soundtrack.

Can definitely hear Brian on the backing vocals, and maybe doubling the lead in a few bits. I suppose this is Matt on the leads, though it sounds like it's been sped up or otherwise juiced with some autotune or something along those lines. Sounds like Al in there too, though Matt can tend to sound like Al as well.

I'd say the one song sounds in places like "Shelter" from TWGMTR, but I would guess that just has more to do with the writing style/patterns on some of those Brian/Joe songs.

I have an idea about what might be going on here. It's just based on a couple of pieces of information, so bear with me.

I believe that Joe Thomas was working on assembling another BW solo record at the time of his (Joe's) death. Scott Bennett -- who is going by another easily uncovered name on social media these days -- posted that the two had been in touch about unreleased material. Scott has also written that he's hoping to release a batch of TLOS-era songs soon.

Putting two and two together, I wonder if Joe was essentially deputizing teams of producers to whip BW outtakes into shape for that last record. We know the Life Suite material was left over from TWGMTR, and I've been assured by those in the know that there were tons of outtakes from NPP. Add those together with whatever material Scott might be sitting on, and you could have a really solid album.

I very much doubt Brian worked on any of this stuff within the past few years, but the new production team and the Jardines may well have been spiffing them up.

As posted here, Joe's death appears to have scuttled the project. But I do hope the recordings get out one way or another.
