Kinda crazy, but has anyone ever heard anybody play "Wendy" and do the cough at the right time?

I'm not sure if Brian's band ever added that in concert, but they were known over the years in concert to add other extraneous stuff like the chatter in "Here Today."

During the Beach Boys tour in 2012 a member of this messageboard talked with Probyn Gregory (I believe it was him) about the cough and Probyn (or whoever it was) made sure to recreate it at the right moment during the following show. Just that one show. Unfortunately I don't remember which user it was, neither which show it was done at. You'll probably find it if you go through the review section for the reunion concerts.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
