I was listening to my So Tough/Holland twofer, and I discovered something odd. On the song "Trader", the song abruptly stops during the fade out. If you turn the volume up a bit you can really notice it. The song fades out to a certain point and then just...stops. It's like somebody literally pressed a stop button. Is this a defect in the CD? Does anybody else here have the same issue in their twofer?
Pretty sure that's on the master ... fades can sometimes vary if the original mix wasn't faded or left some wiggle room, and there was an EQ'd copy for vinyl mastering ... or even if the fades were done on the fly when the laquer was being cut.
One of my pet peeves on most of the CD copies of 1960s material is that the tracks fade too soon (presumably to avoid emphasizing the increasing tape hiss that would be notable otherwise).
